Mark has been executive director of the
Washington, D.C.-based Association for Commuter
Transportation (ACT) since January
2007. ACT is a not-for-profit corporation supporting
professionals and organizations working to broaden the
availability and use of sustainable mobility options that
reduce traffic congestion and lead to better air quality
and lower greenhouse gas emissions.
In addition to his work
for ACT, Mark is an independent writer, editor and design
specialist for several non-transportation clients,
including the Self Storage Association and BNI.

Community
- Co-founder
and co-chair of the Adams Morgan Heritage Trail
Working Group, the community partner with Cultural
Tourism DC
in the research and development of Roads to Diversity: Adams
Morgan Heritage Trail. This
program highlights the history of neighborhoods
within Washington, D.C.'s Adams Morgan community.
The trail was unveiled January 28, 2006 as part
of a growing network of "neighborhood
heritage trails" in the District of
Columbia.
- Former
commissioner, Advisory Neighborhood
Commission 1C, an unpaid, locally
elected post with the District of Columbia
government. Served two terms (1999-2001,
2001-2003) representing ANC Single Member
District 1C-02. ANC 1C vice-chair for 2001 and
2002.
